This week, Gulf Power’s service organization, Transformers, will present checks of $34,333 to Pensacola Pathway for Change, Fort Walton Beach based 3rd Chance Inc. and Friends of Sims State Veterans Nursing Home.The clay shoot at the Santa Rosa Shooting Center raised the most money in the history of the event, exceeding last year total by more than $10,000.Pathways for Change is a new 12 bed transitional facility for female veterans that offers services such as substance abuse and PTSD/mental health counseling and job training for up to two years.3rd Chance is building a transitional home for homeless veterans and partners with other homeless agencies to provide new clothes, counseling, a job and other transitional services.Friends of Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home provides quality of life services and items veterans or their families cannot afford to purchase to improve their quality of life.
