MASON CITY Two men and two women were arrested Wednesday in a Mason City home, two for long standing outstanding charges and two for actions while law enforcement was present.

Brunstein, of Mason City, was wanted on controlled substance violation, failure to affix drug stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia charges from May 17. May 17 on the 500 block of Ninth street Southeast. According to court documents, Brunstien allegedly attempted to elude plain clothes officers while driving and then ran on foot.

He was arrested for driving while barred and a search warrant was obtained to search his vehicle. According to the criminal complaint,

officers seized two digital scales, a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana, a broken but used glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine, several syringes, and plastic baggies in the vehicle. More than 14 grams of methamphetamine was found on the front passenger seat.

Eckenrod was wanted for a third degree theft charge from August.

“Eckenrod picked up items from displays in the store to scan and then run the refunds,” the criminal complaint said. “After running the refunds,

Eckenrod then took the refunded money from the cash register drawer. Eckenrod then returned the scanned products to the store displays.”
