For years he drew deep on the tradition of well dressed early 90s sales rep whose natural habitat is a service station just off the M6 eating an all day breakfast with a look of bitter melancholy in the eyes. In warmer climes favours the lighter coloured suit, sometimes in a vivid blue and, at awards gigs, can sport something a little shiney and flash, no doubt purchased from an expensive menswear shop in Leamington Spa. Seems almost certain to have owned those strange stripy shirts with a plain collar. Off duty, I imagine it’s all pink polo shirts, slacks and anything which will soak up gin.

Has always had a touch of the louche, cuff link wearing Tory MP accused of over claiming expenses about him.

Despite hailing from Coventry, has none of that splendidly downbeat accent about him. Even though we can all hear his voice in our head, how could you possibly describe it? Seems most at home expressing plain old traditional British views about British football, as just a sample of recent Tweets suggest. The best co commentator since Andy Gray.

Current favourites for the Fulham job Nigel Pearson and Tim Sherwood both on beIN Sports

A word of warning for the RFU as the FA found out expensively foreign coaches don always know best.

An uncomfortable to listen to, even unpleasant air of sourness, seems to be one of his go to modus operandi these days. The radio programmes sometimes sound like two old blokes moaning in a golf club about youngsters these days.

Was in at the birth of the Sky revolution and for years was the man to present a big game. For yonks he was in cruise control and was undeniably at the peak of the TV football presenting gig. He won awards and was feted as a master of the craft. Then came the infamous ‘prehistoric banter’ and the lack of people rushing to vociferously defend him was very noticeable. Some suggested this was because prolonged bad attitude and arrogance had alienated many.

Has since made some bizarre, accidentally hilarious home videos talking about football with Andy Gray in cars, hotel rooms and other poorly lit places, which all feel a bit weird, like you’re peering into the afterlife at two recently deceased relatives.

As well as doing Talksport, he is now working in the Middle East on beIN Sports, and often seems very keen to tell everyone how great it is, posting pictures of men in polo shirts having drinks in a hotel room or somewhere sunny. We get it, Richard your life is better than ours.

For years he was just a fixture, no more or less annoying or entertaining than any other presenter. A generation grew up with him being the face of satellite football. But after getting canned, his stock was very low with everyone, apart from those people who thought it was political correctness gone mad, and they tend to be worrisome people to have batting for you. But now, to many in the UK, at least, he seems to be a something of a figure of fun an exhibit in the Bantersaurus Museum, forever talking to the same circle of aging ex pros, all of whom agree with each other but increasingly seem to be talking only to themselves. Like a half heard distant echo in a dream, to listen to their Talksport show, you’d think it was still 1989 you were listening to a rather obvious, cartoonish satire.

As all students of the PFM culture know, a mere TV talking head cannot be a PFM, having not played the game professionally and got up the backside of a centre forward on a cold Tuesday night in Rochdale. However, all PFMs need someone to articulate and proselytise their cause and to those that do, they give an honorary PFM doctorate. Richard is foremost in this regard. Richard knows that you must always bow down to the PFM and not get above your station and question their stance on anything, even if it is quite obvious that they don’t even know the rules of the game anymore and that their view is unsupportable with any facts whatsoever. He knows that the British man is being done down in favour of the foreigner, even though he’s nothing against ‘them’. He is certain that the game is not what it was and that certainly knows that you can’t say anything these days.

He surely has the number of every PFM on his phone. Big Sam, Reidy, Timbo, Pards, Ray Parlour (Parlo?) Nigel Pearson (Pearo?) et al, can all be relied upon to contribute some familiar opinion on the modern game in an overly matey, jocular style which occasionally boils over into something with a little more angst and fist clenched. Bitterness always feel just below the surface and while this makes a lot of us feel rather uneasy, it is a dog whistle to all PFMs and his likeminds, that they are amongst their own.

Reidy is, of course, a regular colleague and no doubt, a carousing associate, so nights drinking a jeroboam of 3 in 1 multi purpose oil, Pernod and fabric softener shandy must surely be a familiar pastime. However, doesn’t look physically capable of keeping up with with Reidy and Andy Gray, but importantly, he knows that a night out with boys must never be talked about outside the company of understanding PFMs, who know that it’s all just banter and she shouldn’t look like that if she can’t take a compliment. Not hard to imagine him emerging, sunburnt, sweating and unsteady at 5am from an expensive Dubai night club called The Sandy Slit with one of the gang escorting Miss Blancmange (and associated milk puddings) Body, 1977, to a 6 star hotel room.

marco polo wiki Fontaine’s Department Store

The store is connected to the two other buildings floating at its side by a tram moving along flexible rails.

Following Fontaine’s battle with Ryan’s security forces on September 12, 1958,[1] his remaining followers were locked inside the store by early December.[2] The buildings were detached and sank away from the City. The inmates, mainlySplicers, fought against each other for survival as the ocean slowly flooded the store.

Burial at Sea Episode 1Edit

Dark and deserted.

Main article: Burial at Sea Episode 1

As the Bathysphere draws close to sunken structures, Elizabeth wonders how many people the duo will encounter inside the department store. Booker responds that Fontaine has assembled an army’s worth of followers. The detective regards the inmates as “spliced up and wild.”The station can house up to two Bathyspheres, welcomed new customers and showcased some of the store’s products. The walkway to the Pavilion Station has collapsed, and they need to get over a chasm by freezing the burst pipes. Elizabeth sees an advertisement for Rapture on Ice, and its exclusive Plasmid:Old Man Winter. They go for the Menswear department, in an attempt to get to higher ground. When they leave Menswear on the second floor, they use thePneumo Linesto get to the third.

Prt Porter is a department of Fontaine’s that sells ready to wear clothing. When compared to the size of the other departments, it is relatively small. Another set of burst pipes makes this department inaccessible until Old Man Winter is found. A Grenade Launcher Turret guards the area, and theShotgunis to be found there.

Menswear is a department of Fontaine’s that sells men’s clothing. With subsections like Workman’s Wear and the Haberdashery, it was a primary location for the Rapture elite to find their outfits. It sold a variety of accessories. One Splicer is found searching for useful items in the back, guarded by his trusty Turret.

The Daily BreadEdit

The Daily Bread is first discovered when Splicers attempt to break into the locked bar. The two story bar is now housing three Splicers and a Turret. Right after entering, the player should find theTommy Gun.

Jack Frost’s Village is an ice rink built to provide entertainment for customers passing through Fontaine’s Department Store. The Frosty Splicer Booker and Elizabeth chase is hiding here, along with some fellow Splicers. On clearing the ice rink, the player opens the promotional cabinet only to find empty bottles of the Plasmid. Elizabeth introduces her “new Plasmid”,Tear, with which she assists Booker throughout the rest of the Episode.

Reporter’s Notebook Chris Julin

I know some of these kids, because one year ago, I was teaching at Nettleton Elementary. It’s a great school, in many ways full of hope and potential. But it’s a hard place to teach the closest Duluth has to an “inner city” school and I couldn’t cut it. A lot of kids at Nettleton have tough lives, and they bring their problems to school. Like the little second grader who was so unstable that an adult escorted him to a special bus every day, after the other kids had left.

This boy was in constant trouble, for running around, hitting other kids, swearing. But one day he really went off. It took two teachers to restrain him. He kept kicking people, so I pulled his shoes off and followed behind as they carried him to the office, screaming and flailing.

When we got to the office, the boy’s mother happened to be standing in the hall. She had just checked in with her older son, who’d been suspended for five days for the same kind of problems. I handed the shoes to her and walked away, knowing that I had to stop being a teacher.

At school, several of the Flyers are what teachers call “defiant.” They’ll look an adult in the face and do the exact opposite of what they’re asked to do. But here in the gym, they’re polite to adults and to each other. The big kids help the little kids. When they “spot” another kid who’s doing a difficult move, they say, quietly, almost under their breath, “Nice job Alan,” “Nice job Sam.”

I see a skinny nine year old spring improbably high into the air, and make a perfect landing. With just the hint of a smile, he dashes away and turns four consecutive, beautiful back flips.

This is the boy whose shoes I carried to his mother.

IT’S ABOUT FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON,

and the Washington Center is coming to life. The building used to be a school. Now it’s a community center. It’s perched on the Central Hillside, overlooking downtown, in one of Duluth’s grittiest neighborhoods. Kids start filling the halls as soon as school lets out. Some of them come here to see adult mentors. Some are getting help with homework.

Today, some of them are here to do back flips.

A couple dozen kids have spread mats on the floor and taken off their shoes. Now they’re bounding across the gym, turning cartwheels and handsprings. These are the Hillside Flyers. The smallest is six years old, the biggest is 15. All but three of them are boys.

Yusuf Abdullah coaches the Flyers. When he was a kid in Racine, Wis., he spent a lot of time at a drop in center like this one. That’s where he learned to tumble. He came to Duluth for college, and now he works organizing activities for kids here at the Washington Center. About a year ago, Abdullah was walking down the hall past this gym, and he saw some boys trying to do flips.

“Instinctively, I put out the mats, and I started to show them a couple things that I knew, and they got excited because the staff is doing flips. Usually, when adults see kids do flips, they get nervous and say ‘Stop doing that,’ but I was just the oppposite. I was, ‘Okay, let’s lay out the mats and let’s do more,
v neck polo Flying High In Duluth
‘” says Abdullah.

In some parts of town, gymnastics is highly organized, competitve, and made up of girls. But Yusuf Abdullah says in African American neighboorhods, lots of boys tumble, on their own, just for kicks. That’s how the Flyer’s captain, ninth grader Walter Taylor, got started.

“My first back flip was in the living room, my mom’s living room. I just did it. And then I went down the hill and I did more. And I heard a tumbling team was at the Washington Center, so I thought that would be something fun to do, so I got on it, and I started liking it,” says Taylor.

The Flyers choreograph their own routines, and they choose which moves to learn, but Yusuf Abdullah decides when they’re ready. While Walter Taylor and the other big kids are flipping off the spring board, Abdullah is on his knees helping younger kids do back handsprings. With one hand on the small of their backs, he gives each of the kids some encouraging words, and just enough oomph so they land on their feet. Sixth grader Ray Moore started out with the beginners a few months ago. Now he’s one of the 12 kids on the Flyers’ performance squad.

“When we first started, we started of with forward rolls, and backward rolls. Once Yusuf thinks that you’ve got good at that, he’ll send you off to something harder, like a front flip off a spring board, or a dive roll, or something more experienced. The hardest thing I’m still working on is a back flip with no hands,” says Moore.

Ray Moore goes to Nettleton Elementary, just a few blocks from here. So do a bunch of the Flyers. Some of the Flyers do well in school, and have happy lives at home. But many of them don’t. And Yusuf Abdullah says those are the kids who get the biggest charge out of tumbling in front of an audience.

“These kids are show offs. They want somebody to say, ‘Look at me, look what I’m doing.’ And that’s probably what they’re doing in their classrooms also showing off. When they go out in front of those people, the people are applauding them, and cheering them. They very seldom get that in other environments,” says Abdullah.

It’s Nettleton Elementary’s spring talent show, and the Hillside Flyers are the opening act. Four hundred students and adults twist in their seats to watch the Flyers stream down the center aisle in their royal blue t shirts and shorts. The smallest Flyers lead the way, doing diving somersaults. The bigger kids do back handsprings to the front of the auditorium. For 10 minutes the Flyers live up to their name, zooming up and down the auditorium, doing progressively fancier moves. They pull out a spring board, and Yusuf Abdullah stands in front of it while one by one, the Flyers soar over his head, doing flips.

They construct human wheels out of pairs of kids and roll the length of the mat. Some of the bigger boys walk the length of the mat on their hands. Yusuf Abdullah goes all the way down, and back. One boy turns back flips the entire length of the mat without touching his hands to the floor. The crowd loves it, and so do the Flyers, who are all sweat,

and smiles.

The third ranked ‘Noles will find out how good they are immediately in what’s being called “The Greatest College Football Opener of All Time” against top ranked Alabama Saturday night in Atlanta’s Chik fil A Kickoff Game.

And that’s just the beginning of the gauntlet.

Florida State plays five teams ranked in the Associated Press preseason top 25 poll: (1. Alabama, 5. Clemson, 16. Louisville, 17. Florida, 18. Miami).

But the Seminoles, who have won three of their last four games against ranked teams, certainly have the firepower to make it through with minimal damage to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Fisher has skill and size all over the field thanks to bringing in six consecutive top five recruiting classes.

Here is a breakdown of the ‘Noles at every position as the men in garnet and gold begin their journey toward what they hope is a fourth national title:

Redshirt sophomore Deondre Francois opened as a 12 1 favorite to win the Heisman trophy this season, and he could be one of the most improved players in the nation.

The former Olympia High School and IMG Academy standout flashed brilliance at times during his first year as the Seminoles starting quarterback, finishing with 3,350 yards with 25 total touchdowns (5 rushing) and 7 interceptions in 2016.

But Francois may have learned the most from his bad days, including going 7 18 for just 101 yards (TD, INT) in a 63 20 blowout loss to Louisville that crushed FSU’s hopes of being an elite team last season.

He has visibly become much more of a leader on the field, and the consistency he lacked as a redshirt freshman appears to be a problem of the past.

Fisher raves about his work ethic, and Francois revealed this fall that his goal during practice every day is to focus on one thing to get better at each day.

That’s a good sign for a young man with so much untapped potential.

Also promising is the fact that Francois was often at his best in crunch time as a redshirt freshman.

He threw the game winning touchdown pass with 36 seconds left to upset sixth ranked Michigan in the Orange bowl, and Francois also engineered game winning fourth quarter drives to beat 10th ranked Miami and NC State.

Francois would have had two more game winning drives against North Carolina (372 pass yards) and eventual national champion (286 pass yards, TD, INT) if the FSU defense could have finished the job for him.

It would not be surprising to see Francois top 4,000 yards passing with 40+ total touchdowns and adding to his rushing numbers. Cosentino for the backup role.

Florida State all time leading rusher Dalvin Cook obviously leaves big shoes to fill with his departure to the NFL, but few teams in the nation can boast more depth than the ‘Noles at the running back position.

Coach Fisher named junior Jacques Patrick as his starter at the beginning of fall camp and is anxious to see how he’ll perform.

The Timber Creek High School alum saw limited action playing behind the workhorse Cook (350 rush yards, 4 TD), but Fisher believes he has the potential to be great.

He’ll have to be to keep his spot, because an incredible group of freshmen will be fighting for the chance to get carries.

True freshman Cam Akers was the top ranked recruit at the position coming out of high school this past year, and many experts believe he will be the next Seminoles superstar on offense.

He’s actually the highest rated offensive recruit in Florida State’s storied history, coming off a senior season at Clinton High School in Mississippi where he ran for 2,105 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Fellow freshmen phenoms Khalan Laborn (five star) and Zaquandre White (four star) are potential gamebreakers, too, but their time to shine may have to wait until the future.

Redshirt senior Ryan Greene and sophomore Amir Rasul are listed with Akers as the backups, and both bring attributes that could give them opportunities.

Redshirt junior Johnathan Vickers will be the starting fullback after converting from tailback, and he’ll be backed up by sophomore Gabe Nabers.

A federal grand jury indicted Jason M. Keating, Kyle K. Yamaguchi and Tung W. Ho Wednesday on charges of conspiracy to transport, receive and sell stolen goods, court records show. Ho also faces counts of wire fraud, Yamaguchi is also accused of interstate transportation of stolen goods and Keating faces an additional receipt of stolen goods charge. The federal charges come after Nike sued Ho, Yamaguchi, Keating, Yamaguchi’s wife and another ex employee in April to recover losses from the unsanctioned sneaker sales. Keating was arrested earlier that month on a charge of receipt of stolen property in connection with this case. District Court in Portland, court records show. He is the only person who has been arrested in this case.Nike alleges in its lawsuit that the three men were involved in a scheme that stretched from 2006 to 2014 in which Yamaguchi and Ho ordered promotional and sample shoes from Nike factories for themselves, then later sold shoes to Keating, who then resold the footwear.Keating is accused of selling the sneakers to small businesses in Oregon, California, Florida, New York and New Jersey.Yamaguchi and Ho agreed to work together to sell the rare Nike sneakers in 2012, according to a federal indictment filed Wednesday. Between September 2012 and March 2014, Keating paid Yamaguchi nearly $680,000 for more than 630 pairs of allegedly stolen Nike shoes, the indictment said.Promotional and sample products consist of items usually made for an athlete,

Federal investigators say individual pairs of the rare Nike sneakers could be sold for prices ranging from $1,000 to more than $20,000 among shoe collectors.Yamaguchi worked as a promotional product manager for Nike’s basketball division between 2006 and 2012, and then Ho replaced him when he resigned from the company. Nike fired Ho in March in connection with the alleged sneaker thefts.Yamaguchi, 33, of Portland, kept the sneakers he ordered or sold them to other people, according to court documents. Once he left Nike, he bought sneakers ordered by Ho, 36, of Portland, and then resold them to Keating and other buyers for 20 percent commission of the total sale, the indictment said.Yamaguchi resigned from Nike in 2012 to start a sunglasses business called LOOK/SEE. Nike refers to sample shoes internally as Look See products. Yamaguchi displayed glasses at sneaker conventions next to the rare footwear he obtained while working at Nike, the indictment said.Yamaguchi played a hand in selecting Ho as his replacement and advised him to hide the large amount of rare sneaker orders by billing them to different cost centers in Nike’s system, the indictment said.Ho told investigators that he stole several hundred sneakers from Nike and made $15,000 selling them on eBay, court documents said.

“If a team member of a softball team is sick or injured, you do not bring the entire softball team in to check on them because guess what? You just got maybe 15 new vectors, or carriers of the flu, by them just walking in. Because I watched them all walk in last night and not one of them touched the hand sanitizer, not once! Because the flu is a cesspool of funky flu at the ER right now. So please don’t bring your team in. Please don’t bring your healthy children in especially your newborn babies! And if you don’t have what I call a true emergency, this would not be a time to come to the emergency room.”

“I saw a dad with a toddler crawling on the floor in the emergency room and I approached him and I said,

“I don’t feel like nobody child is safe. If he’ll do it to my child and he’s been around me, in my house, been around my kids, he’ll do it to anybody kids and it’s not just girls on this team, it’s boys on the team too,” said Williams.

Williams said Christian was a longtime family friend and she believes he initiated contact with her son over Snapchat, prior to the incident.

She said she randomly checked her teenager’s phone about two weeks ago, detailing alleged sexual acts between her son and Christian.

“I was hurt, I was disgusted. I felt betrayed,” she said.

Pinellas Park Police said the incident occurred at Christian’s home on October 22, on Springwood Blvd. Law enforcement was contacted the next day.

The victim spoke with officers and provided them with text messages between him and Christian.

“The context of the text that I saw, there was a lot of manipulation, a lot of it. He bought my son Jordan’s, he gave him money, all kinds of stuff,” said Williams.

No one answered the door Thursday at Christian’s home.

St. Pete Diamond Prima Donna dance team director, Darlene Gray had no comment.

Williams hopes other parents heed her warning.

“I just feel like, if you just keep a close eye on your kids, maybe it won’t happen to them. You know what I mean. I don’t trust anybody now,” she said.

Christian was later released on a $10,000 bond.

usa mens water polo team Florence School District 4 board discusses school uniform

Members of Florence School District 4’s Board of Trustees had a lengthy discussion on whether students at Brockington Elementary School could wear another color polo shirt as part of the school’s uniform.

Students attending Brockington receive one purple polo shirt with the student’s name and school mascot.

The school uniform includes a solid purple shirt, which is made up of mostly cotton, and khaki bottoms. No T shirts will be allowed, and shirts must be tucked in at all times.

A small insignia no bigger than 1 inch can be worn on the shirt.

Board chairwoman Rose Bacot said purple shirts were hard to find and that her children wouldn’t attend school with only one purple shirt.

She said has received telephone calls from other parents about not being able to find enough purple shirts to wear to school.

Bacot requested the school pick a second color, one that is readily available,
ralph lauren polo shoes for men Florence School District 4 board discusses school uniform
as part of the school’s uniform.

Board member Betty Dowling agreed with Bacot and suggested the school require students to either wear a purple or red shirt to school.

Dowling said Johnson Middle School students are allowed to wear two different color shirts and it’s only fair to allow elementary school students the same option.

Johnson Middle students wear a solid navy or white shirt, brown belt and khaki bottoms. A navy jacket also may be worn.

Both schools will adhere to the district’s policy when it comes to footwear, which includes no flip flops or open toed shoes.

Brockington Elementary principal Angela Jacobs said she received only three telephones concerning the school’s uniform policy and that the decision to have a second color shirt should have been made before the start of the school year.

Students return to classes Monday. Jacobs said the school is ordering more shirts for parents to purchase.

Bacot previously said she didn’t like the idea of the Brockington students only wearing purple shirts to school every day and suggested the board take action on the item Tuesday. No decision was made by press time.
